Browns Win Streak

Monday, January 4th, 2010

The Browns end the season the second hottest team in football despite having the sixth worst win-loss record.  They won the last four games in a row (tied with Houston, San Diego is first winning the last 11).  Hopefully this will translate over into next season and we can make the playoffs!

The Rose Bowl 2010: Ohio State vs. Oregon

Friday, January 1st, 2010

I can’t believe I missed the Rose Bowl!!!  I had misread the time it was going to start.  I thought it was going to start at 7:10pm central time and it turned out to be the time the game ended.  Now I am in a desparate search for a taping or replay of the game.  In the mean time, I can be happy that Ohio State won!

Browns: Back-to-Back Wins!

Monday, December 21st, 2009

Well in a season where you have only won three games so far, back to back wins is really sweet!  Especially beating the Steelers.  I believe it has been 6 years since we last beat our arch rivals.

.

Jerome Harrison ran for 286 yards (3rd most in NFL history for a single game).  He broke Jim Brown’s team record for Cleveland of 237 yards.

.

It looks like Mike Holmgren is going to be coming to Cleveland!

Sunday Night Football: Steelers vs. Ravens

Sunday, November 29th, 2009

I am tuning into the game for the 4th quarter.  It is 14 – 10, Ravens have the lead.   Dennis Dixon (the quarterback replacement for Ben Roethlisberger) scores a touchdown on a 24 yard run to the right.

17-14, Steelers now have the lead.

.

There are 3 minutes and 31 seconds left, and it is 4th down and 5 for the Ravens on their own 44.  They complete the pass and get within the Steelers 10 yard line.  The Steelers hold them to a field goal with 1 minute and 57 seconds left.

17-17, tied up.

.

Steelers go three and out.  Ravens get the ball with just over a minute left.  After several defensive and offensive penalties and just over 20 seconds left, the Ravens are around the Steeler’s 40 yard line.  Suddenly, the Ravens fumble on third down and recover it.  The ball is spotted on the 38 yard line and the clock keeps ticking.  With no time outs left, the Ravens rush their kicking team on to the field.  Three seconds…two seconds…the ball is snapped and the kick is up….no good.  It was just a few yards shy of going through.  Overtime.

.

Steelers get the ball first in overtime.  A few plays later, Ravens intercept the pass.  They drive it down to around the Steeler’s 10 yard line.  Then on 2nd down and 4, they kneel the ball in the middle of the field.  The kick is up…it’s good.  The Ravens win.  A fairly interesting game.

The Browns

Sunday, November 22nd, 2009

My dad and I got to see the fourth quarter of the Browns vs. Lions at a sports bar.  Up by 6 points, with 8 seconds to go and the Lions somewhere around the 40, we were holding our breaths.  Then a pass interference call and the ball on the 1, we held our breaths again.  Then disappointment and frustration as the Lions scored.  Another game lost.  Still a Browns fan.  But now on to more important things in life.
