Sugar Bowl 2011: Ohio State vs. Arkansas

Tuesday, January 4th, 2011

I was super excited to watch the Sugar Bowl tonight.  When Ohio State wins, I am excited for days.  When they lose, I try to forget it quickly.  This game seemed to be a series of fortunate and unfortunate events, with the slight majority of fortunate events going in Ohio State’s favor.  Below is a picture of when Sanzenbacher recovered Prior’s fumble in the end zone after Arkansas had several opportunities to recover it.

Here is the video of that fumble recovery:

Arkansas could not hang on to the ball even though they were often perfectly thrown by their quarterback Ryan Mallett.  OSU missed an opportunity near the end of the game when Herron fumbled the ball which would have resulted in a first down.  With 2 minutes left, OSU also had their punt blocked.  Arkansas made a mistake by not picking up the ball and running it in.  The final interception by Solomon Thomas sealed Ohio State’s victory.  The picture below is Heyward excited about this ending.

Browns vs. Panthers

Tuesday, November 30th, 2010

On Sunday, I was doing some work to prepare for the week, but I took off about an hour to watch the Browns on the internet.  There were five seconds left and they were about to review the last play to see if the Panthers made a completion giving them enough yards to be in field goal range.  The Browns were leading 24 to 23.  Right at that moment Jess and Liam had woken up and I needed to change Liam because he had leaked through his diaper.  After changing Liam, we both watched the last play as the Panthers missed the field goal!  Liam and I started cheering together.  Well, he doesn’t know quite yet what was going on, but it was great to have him there for the final play.  And he smiled knowing that his daddy was happy!

Ohio State vs. Michigan 2010

Sunday, November 28th, 2010

Jess and Liam take a nap between 11:00am and 1:00pm, so we recorded the game to watch it later.  Ohio State started off slow, but then picked it up and never let down, winning 37 – 7.  This makes Jim Tressel 9 – 1 against Michigan.  This is the best winning percentage by any OSU or Michigan coach against the other team (with a minimum of 2 games played).  Fielding Yost, a coach for Michigan in the early 1900’s, had the second best winning percentage in the rivalry at 82.5%.

Hopefully, this win will solidify the Buckeyes chances at getting into another BCS bowl game.

CAVS VS. HEAT

Thursday, February 4th, 2010

Liam and I watched Lebron James and the Cavs play the Miami Heat tonight.  It was awesome watching Lebron put on a clinic to show people what many players will never be able to do!  Final Score:  Cavs 102 – Miami 96.  The Cavs are on a 10 game winning streak (40 – 11) and have the best record in the NBA.

God blessed me with seeing the Rose Bowl last night!  After having missed it, I have been waiting for a replay and last night it came on the Big Ten Network.
