Left-handed Liam?

Friday, February 19th, 2010

It appears that Liam is developing a preference for using his left hand.  I notice it when I am feeding him.  Liam can grab the spoon with his left hand, but can’t really grab it with his right.  When Liam is in his exersaucer, he first reaches for the farthest objects (like the butterfly / bumble bee) with his left hand.  Some research says babies can start developing a preference as early as 6 – 9 months.  It will definitely be interesting to see if this preference for the left hand continues!

Friday, February 19th, 2010

This morning Liam was pretty active in his “talking”.  So I thought I would record it.  Here is Liam “talking”.

Yesterday, Jess and I were pleasantly surprised to here Liam for the first time use the “d” sound.  We were so excited and proud of him!

Sitting Up

Wednesday, February 17th, 2010

I saw Liam sitting up  on Saturday at the dinner party and I think he was doing it as early as a few days before that.  But yesterday, I was able to take an awesome picture to document the new development.  His back is not being supported by the chair.

A continuation of Blah-g 1

Tuesday, February 16th, 2010

A continuation of Blah-g 1.     Steve, thank you for those insightful comments about the rain forest.  People are definitely going to think twice before using toilet paper again.  While Steve was talking about the rain forest, Jonathan, Jessica, and Liam had a very eventful weekend.  After Jonathan and Chris  took the furniture to storage, there was not enough time to make chicken and wild rice soup.  Jessica was forced to make her famous fish chowder.  A delightful dish that people in the Midwest are just not used to having.  Jonathan loves Jessica’s fish chowder.  On Sunday night, Liam and Jonathan greatly missed Jessica while she was at her sleep study.  While Jonathan was jealous of Jessica participating in a sleep study, the feeling quickly evaporated when Jessica returned with glue stuck in her hair.  After pouring olive oil all over Jessica’s hair and watching her spend lots of time trying to get the glue out, Jonathan no longer felt the desire to participate in a sleep study.  The night after the sleep study was a late-night, romantic rendez-vous because there’s nothing on earth more romantic than a special pizza from Pizza Hut.  Well, that’s the weekend news from the Day family.  Steve, take it away on what’s happening with that Tazmanian Devil in Orlando.
