Liam is getting closer to crawling. Jess and I noticed last night that he was getting on his knees for a longer period of time. He is also able to get one knee forward before he collapses and kicks his legs rapidly behind him. Right now I put Liam on some blankets on the ground. He rolled over onto his stomach, so I put a toy in front of him. He is playing with the toy, but sometimes it gets further from him. So he has been grabbing the blankets and pulling them toward him, which pulls the toy closer so he can grab it.
Liam loves to fight sleep. He does it before his nap and at night time before he goes to sleep. But when sleep wins the battle and his eyes close and I lay him down and he does not start crying again – it is at that moment that is so peaceful and wonderful, it cannot fully be described in words. That moment today was at 11:35am.
I am praising God today for Liam sleeping a little longer at night. Also, God has blessed me with Liam sleeping 3 and half hours straight during a nap! That helped me get lots of work done around the house. And he is taking a second nap right now!
It started out as another afternoon feeding of solid food. But it turned out to be an explosion. Avocado somehow went everywhere. On Liam’s face, on my pants, on Liam’s hands and pants, in Liam’s hair, on the floor, on Liam’s shirt and bib, on my shirt. It was a combination of Liam wanting to feed himself and him playing with his food and my not caring too much about either. The picture shows it all:
