The Day before Thanksgiving!

Wednesday, November 25th, 2009

Well, it’s another long day of work while my family takes care of Liam.  I am working on finishing up my presentation slides for Monday.  Then, I will be working on my lecture of economic policy.  After that, I will be grading more presidency papers.  And tonight I will be taking my wife out on a date!

.

In my search for data on wealth distribution in America, I found an advertisement for Windows 7.  It has lots of cool features that I would like to have.  I just read that first sentence over again!

Wealth Distribution in the U.S. (1989 – 2001)

The percentage of wealth owned by each quintile (the bottom two quintiles are combined)

Despite being in the bottom two quintiles of the the above graph, I have so much to be thankful for!!!

Liam’s Development

In the last couple of days, Liam has been standing (with support).  He locks his legs for at least a minute!

There are also reports of him “belly” laughing.  Also, he seems to be growing out of his 3-6 month clothes already and is needing 9 month clothes.  I am wanting a bunch of pictures of me holding him “like a baby” because he is wanting to be vertical more and more and eventually my opportunity for those photo ops will disappear.

My family seems to be playing a game – how long can they keep Liam asleep without waking him by noise.  They have the lights out and my mom is holding him on the couch.  So far they have succeed for about 2 hours and 38 minutes.

My family was “successful” at keeping Liam asleep for 3 hours and 33 minutes.  Then he woke up crying for food.

Another Day’s Work

Tuesday, November 24th, 2009

I took Jess to work today.  My dad is working out at our club house.  My sister is protecting Liam from hearing any sounds that may disrupt his sleep.  My mom is busy checking out our supplies for some recipes on Thanksgiving Day.  The dogs are enjoying breakfast.  I am working on grading papers and other projects.

.

Working at the clubhouse – it’s much quieter here.

Praise God!!  He helped me get a lot of work done today.  And many different empirical models are supporting predictions from my formal model.

The Day’s Work

Monday, November 23rd, 2009

I am sitting in the food court of Coral Ridge mall, reading “Public Finance and Public Choice:  Two contrasting visions of the state”, while my family is strolling Liam around the mall.  It is an excellent book!

.

Now grading some presidency papers.

.

Went to pick up Jess from work, then came home and spent some time with my family.  Now everyone has gone to bed and I am working on some projects.  Liam decided to stay up with me and talk to himself.
