Shopping Trip.

Monday, November 30th, 2009

Jessica, Liam, and I went Christmas shopping tonight.  Thanks to my wife, we have completed our Christmas shopping.  Liam really enjoyed being held by his mommy as we walked through the mall.

Congratulations to my Dad! – Tonight at midnight, he is officially retired!

Afternoon with Liam

Monday, November 30th, 2009

So I picked up Liam around 2:00pm today from his other baby sitter, Linda.  Liam had lots of fun hanging out with Henry, Calvin, and Sylvia.  Mostly though, Liam slept and ate.  When I brought him home, he decided to watch some office with his daddy.

Liam enjoys watching and listening to his mobile.  He will watch and listen with alertness.  Then when the mobile stops, he will “talk” to it.  It is almost like he is asking the mobile to continue playing because when I turn it on again he immediately smiles and sometimes laughs with excitement.

.

For the last two weeks, Liam has been putting almost his entire hand in his mouth (mostly his right hand).

Presentation Today!

Monday, November 30th, 2009

So today I give a presentation of some of my dissertation research to my department.  I am very excited because God has blessed me with a very interesting topic and very interesting findings.  I also enjoy giving presentations!

.

Praise God!  The presentation went well.  I was asked very interesting questions and received lots of great suggestions.

Liam’s development continues

Sunday, November 29th, 2009

It is very evident that Liam is now following me with more alertness in his eyes.  He also mimicked me laughing.  I would exaggerate my laugh for a prolonged period of time and he would also laugh.  Also, I would count to ten making my voice pitch higher and higher until I reached 10.  When I stopped at 10, Liam would laugh and smile.  Jess has been doing the last exercise with Liam using the ABC’s for the past week and he would laugh and smile when she finished at Z.

.

Here is Jess with Liam – his alertness is very evident.  Jess also very much enjoys singing the ABC’s to Liam while holding him this way.

Sunday Night Football: Steelers vs. Ravens

Sunday, November 29th, 2009

I am tuning into the game for the 4th quarter.  It is 14 – 10, Ravens have the lead.   Dennis Dixon (the quarterback replacement for Ben Roethlisberger) scores a touchdown on a 24 yard run to the right.

17-14, Steelers now have the lead.

.

There are 3 minutes and 31 seconds left, and it is 4th down and 5 for the Ravens on their own 44.  They complete the pass and get within the Steelers 10 yard line.  The Steelers hold them to a field goal with 1 minute and 57 seconds left.

17-17, tied up.

.

Steelers go three and out.  Ravens get the ball with just over a minute left.  After several defensive and offensive penalties and just over 20 seconds left, the Ravens are around the Steeler’s 40 yard line.  Suddenly, the Ravens fumble on third down and recover it.  The ball is spotted on the 38 yard line and the clock keeps ticking.  With no time outs left, the Ravens rush their kicking team on to the field.  Three seconds…two seconds…the ball is snapped and the kick is up….no good.  It was just a few yards shy of going through.  Overtime.

.

Steelers get the ball first in overtime.  A few plays later, Ravens intercept the pass.  They drive it down to around the Steeler’s 10 yard line.  Then on 2nd down and 4, they kneel the ball in the middle of the field.  The kick is up…it’s good.  The Ravens win.  A fairly interesting game.
